Bardi earned a masters degree in Art Therapy, and after pursuing her love of writing for over twenty years, she considers herself to be a Public Communicator. In 2010 she wrote a collection of health and wellness columns for http://sanbruno.patch.com entitled The Healing Chronicles.
Bardi is proud to accept a 2011 Local Heroes Award from the Midpeninsula Media Center for her community service work and for sharing her inspiring story of living well despite the challenges of living with chronic pain.
An appointed San Bruno Culture & Arts Commissioner since 2008, she has served as both the Chair and Vice Chair. One of her recent projects was helping to launch the first Art at the Market event in conjunction with the SB Chamber of Commerce in August, 2010
Bardi also volunteers her time as a segment producer and on-camera interviewer for Senior Moments, a thirty minute San Bruno cable TV program focusing on people over the age of fifty. Her latest projects include segments on hearing loss and community volunteerism opportunities.
Koodrin serves as the PR Chair and board member for the San Francisco/Peninsula Writers Club, a branch of the California Writers Club www.cwc-peninsula.org, where she co-created the Jack London Media Clinic, a public speaking and on-camera training package designed to help writers promote themselves.
Since 2009 she has been the Literary Director of the Fine Arts Department, giving writers a presence and a voice on her stage at the San Mateo County Fair www.sanmateocountyfair.com.
She originated “events within the event,” for writers to give free workshops to fairgoers. Her literary entries doubled in just one year, and she procured an annual $20,000 Creative Writing Scholarship from Notre Dame De Namur University www.ndnu.edu for a deserving high school student.
For the past decade she has been a contributing writer for Razor’s Edge, a private international newsletter, and has moderated Healing is a Journey, a health and wellness chat room.
A member of the Crystal Springs Creative Writers since 2001, she has written numerous short stories, articles (American Journal of Art Therapy), personal experiences (Journey to the Light), illustrated three book and magazine covers, and is the author of three novels, Journey to the Other Side; Bruja; and The Mud-Eater’s Apprentice. The End, the first chapter of her fourth novel in progress, was published in the 2010 anthology Fault Zone, Words from the Edge.
